The Fairbanks Convention and Visitor's Bureau is a good resource for information about Interior Alaska.

The University of Alaska is another place to find good information about Alaska.

Be sure to check out the University of Alaska Museum. They offer shows on the Aurora Borealis and traditional Alaskan Native games in addition to a GREAT museum.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, our only local daily paper, has a web site which features local news, events and feature stories about Fairbanks.

The Alaska Railroad carries passengers from Seward, Whittier, and Anchorage to Fairbanks. Let someone else do the driving!

Meteorological and climate information


The University's Geophysical Institute produces an Auroral Activity Forecast twice a week. They also have the BEST aurora videotapes. Watch for Jeff in "The Aurora Explained". See also NOAA Northern Hemisphere site.
